- Upgrades consisted of:
- Outer layer of sensor plywood boxes, made in 1984, are worn and in parts show signs of deteriation.
We consider cladding them with thin Aluminum plates, of alloy 5754
which has high corrosion resistance, with spacing for ventilation.
- These Aluminum plates can be delivered with additional surface treatment, even painted to desired color (which is NCS "S 0580-Y").
- The GPS antenna (for timestamping digitizer data) mounted on top of wooden pole was covered with ventilated plastic "dome" in Nov 2017.

We have now (2018) started using GPS antenna designed for marine use, which is much better for harsh climate conditions:
