Seismic UN*X

Seismic UN*X (SU for short) is a freely available software package for processing seismic data.
It is developed at Center for Wave Phenomena, Colorado School of Mines.

The description on these web pages is limited to the following:

Handling field data

  1. Getting field data (SEG2) into the system
  2. Data conversion
  3. Viewing the data
  4. Scaling the data
  5. Using just some of the data
  6. Output for further processing or storage (SEG-Y)
  7. Reading SEG-Y data back in
The examples above uses the demo data in the /data/DEMO directory.

Finding your way around in the SU package

Notes:
  • Clean up your files after you. Don't leave unnecessary files on the disk. Others might want some disk space too.
  • Don't mess with other users files.
