o--oo--o o--oo--o Setting up "seislog" with Mauro's Serial SADC10 A/D board VERSION 1.4 or Greater o--oo--o It is important to remove all other copies of the program "Seislog.exe" and install the software as described below. Also power up the A/D card before you "start" Seislog o--oo--o o--oo--o o--oo--o Plug in the Serial SADC10 A/D card into a communications port and power it up. NOTE: This version of "seislog" (SADC10 driver) should set the serial's cards, samples per second, time, and start the card. o--oo--o Run the program "Seislog.exe" in a separate test folder. (Make sure the cbw32.dll file is also in the same folder) Go to the "configure" then to "administer channels" If any configured channels exist: use the remove option to delete them. Go to the "configure", then too "administer devices". If any configured devices exist: use the remove option to delete them. Go to the "configure" then to "administer devices". Press the "add" option. Run down the device list until you get to "SADC10" Highlight it then press the configure button. Set "model" to chan-3 Set your comm port. This is communication port where the serial A/D is plugged into. Set your Baud Rate. Set the value to the operating Baud rate of the "SADC10" card attached to a serial port. With Version 1.4 set the baud to 14400. Set sample speed. The valid options are 100,50,25,20,10,5 Samples per second. Set the "Time correction" if needed. Press the Ok button. Then the 'administer device' close button. o--oo--o Go to the "administer channels" Press the "add button" Go to the "channel parameters {station code} box" , and type in a name , say "Test1" Go to the "component" box and type "S Z" NOTE: S,Space,Space,Z There is a valid list that must be adhered too. In this case "physical channel 1" Press Ok then press "apply" to the ring buffer question. ( Repeat this sequence if more channels are required ) Repeat the above sequence if YOU want to have all the 3 channels. Then press "close" on the "administer channels" box. o--oo--o Goto "file" and "Start system" If all is ok you should see. The channels you have selected. If the serial A/D is plugged in and is sending data. The lights should turn green and the sample number should change. If you wish to see the data in real time, Goto "view" "monitor channel" and selectthe channel you wish to see. NOTE: it can take upto a minute to display the data. It all depends on your sample rate. o--oo--o NOTE: The time is set by 'seislog". If you plug a GPS into a comms port with a transmission speed of 4800 baud and the GPS provides the correct sentences, the the unit's time comes from the GPS. (NOTE the GPS, Larry offers does not provide the correct input) (May be, the program, can be altered to work on this type of GPS ?)
