CABLE REEL / WINCH W/SLIP RING FOR HIGH-VOLTAGE SPARKER CABLEQuoting from Geo Marine data sheets:
Applied Acoustic: CSP-N Seismic Energy Source - 1200 or 2400 JouleCSP = Controlled Seismic Pulse Applied Acoustic: CSP-N Seismic Energy Source. Click to enlarge.
USE OF "REMOTE" AND "KEY" CONNECTORSAdvise from manufacturer: The CSPN remote control includes a remote Key IN option so there is no need for the additional coaxial line unless the key signal is generated away from where you are planning to control the CSPN from in the recording laboratory.
Manufacturer's own REMOTE extension cable is 12x0.5 mm2 with common shield (cut down to 10-way - the number of pins on the connector). Nominal capacitance, core to core : 130 pF/m, and core to screen : 220 pF/m. SIG France, three models, 300, 2000 or 6000 Joule
HATCH FOR SPARKER SOURCE CABLE, COMPRESSOR ROOM BULKHEADSparker power supply (inside a transit case - so not for permanent installation) can be placed on dedicated shelf inside Seismic compressor room on 4th deck. The power supply provides a high-voltage pulse to the acoustic sound generating device towed behind the vessel. A hatch is thus required in compressor room bulkhead. Photo shows hatch on R/V "G.O. SARS", room 316 Geology lab: Hatch on R/V "G.O. SARS", room 316 Geology lab - for streamer cable. Photo taken 4 Feb. 2003, at the yard. SPARKER LINKS
